Dog Training School

DO YOU LOVE DOGS? DO YOU HAVE A DESIRE TO HELP OTHERS? NOW YOU CAN COMBINE YOUR PASSIONS BY LEARNING TO TRAIN MEDICAL SERVICE/ASSISTANCE DOGS.

At Guardian Angel Medical Service Dog Training School, we have developed a very comprehensive program designed to shorten the waiting time it normally requires to provide handicapped people with a service dog. It is not uncommon to hear of people waiting up to six years for a service dog.

The training school consists of a two-part program. First, each student is assigned a puppy or young dog to work with (all puppies/dogs remain at our facility). Under our supervision and guidance, the students are taught all of the various aspects of medical care, nutrition, grooming, daily maintenance, dog behavior, basic dog training, public socialization and manners. In the second course, the medical service dog training is advanced and customized for each individual client. In both parts of the courses, the students gain professionalism and experience working with physically and/or mentally challenged clients, enhance their communication skills, business management and fund raising abilities.

With our program, we can not only have multiple dogs ready for their assignments within 15 months in most cases, but our clients receive regular updates on the progress of their personal service dog and have often met their dogs mid-way through their training. Most importantly, they have had their spirits lifted knowing that they will soon receive their independence.

If you are interested in helping others by learning to train these amazing dogs or you need a medical service dog, you can contact the Guardian Angel Medical Service Dog Training School at 352-425-1981.

Here are some of the student trainers learning and teaching young future service dogs under the supervision of the head trainer.

Testimonials

I decided that I wanted to learn about raising and training service dogs a few months before Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog School started. When Carol told me about the school, I was immediately excited about it. I thought it would be a great hobby and a way to help people with my spare time. I was a little concerned about the schedule but they were great about working with me and the time that I could devote to it.
Fairly quickly after starting the classes, I realized that it was something far more than just a school to teach you about training dogs. This is an organization with a heart and a love for helping others. Since I started the classes, I find myself drawn more and more to the organization. It has never felt like a school. The structure, information, and atmosphere is truly wonderful. The time spent at the classes are nothing but fun and enjoyable.
Carol is a wonderful person to learn from. She is engaging, helpful, and understanding. The dogs are truly remarkable dogs. They have wonderful personalities, loving, and ready to please.
Guardian Angel Medical Service Dog school is something that I would suggest to anyone that has a love for dogs and a desire to help others. It is entertaining and rewarding in ways that nothing else is.

The Guardian Angel Medical Service Dog training program provides an excellent foundation for an individual as a novice trainer and for the puppies who will go on someday to assist a handicapped person. Carol's years of experience as a German Shepherd dog breeder, handler and trainer, make her an excellent teacher and her dogs are the best! I am very happy to be a part of the team and highly recommend the program to anyone who loves dogs and has a desire to help people.
